We want to transform surplus fruit from the Wychwoods into high-quality, locally bottled juice, preserving heritage varieties, strengthening community ties, and reinvesting proceeds into local causes that support wellbeing, inclusion, and care across generations.
What's a mapple? Quite simply, it's a map of apple trees in the Wychwoods. Click on the 'Offer a Tree' button in the right hand bottom corner of the map below and share details of any apple or pear you have and that you're happy to share with the community, for the benefit of the community.
To reduce seasonal fruit waste by capturing surplus produce across the Wychwoods
To generate a modest, sustainable income to support community initiatives, especially those focused on care and wellbeing
To create a recognisable, community-rooted product for local outlets
To promote environmental stewardship, food resilience, and social connection
To foster intergenerational learning and participation through hands-on, nature-based activities
To encourage outdoor engagement and shared experience through traditional fruit pressing and orchard-based events
You may have already been to one of our community apple pressing days, and if so, you'll know that apple pressing always seems to create a little bit of community magic! It brings together people from across the Wychwoods of all ages and walks of life. It's the chance to work together, meet people from your community, have a natter and create some beautiful apple juice.
As we step up our production from the Community Orchard we'll need some more hands on deck. Let us know if you're interested in finding out more here. Everyone welcome.
