Sustainable Wychwoods Action Group is a group of local people that want to make our community a safer, fairer, greener, more sustainable place to live, work and visit.
Sustainable Wychwoods aims to support a wide variety of local projects and initiatives by focusing on waste, biodiversity , transport, food, social justice and energy.
Sustainable Wychwoods is a fully constituted community action group and part of the CAG Network .
Sustainable ideas, support and information are freely/easily shared by all members of the community.
Resources are shared to minimise our impact on the environment.
The local environment and wildlife habitats are valued, encouraged and restored.
Sustainable and environmentally friendly practices in the Wychwoods are campaigned for.
Collaboration, understanding and involvement are recognised as key to achieving our goals.
We're a small, friendly group and all are welcome.
Share thoughts and ideas, and hear news on sustainable local projects and initiatives.
Support our villages to become more sustainable.
Collaborate with the local community and beyond.
Take action (however big or small) as a group and as individuals.
And the rest is up to you...
Get involved as little or as much as you like - it might be something small like volunteering occasionally at the Repair Café or something bigger such as coordinating a community project. It's up to you. Tell us what you're interested in and how you want to make a difference to our community. We would love to hear from you.
We meet on the 3rd Monday of the month at Wychwood Library, High Street, Milton-under-Wychwood. New faces are always very welcome. It's great if you can drop us a line beforehand, but if you can't, please just turn up and we'll be very happy to see you.
What to expect:
7:30pm - Come and enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake together as we catch up and connect.
8:00pm - 9:30pm - Meeting (we generally cover the Repair Café, the Community Orchard, opportunities to collaborate with other community groups & new projects/news.)
If you're coming for the first time, we suggest that you arrive at 7:30pm for a chat through how we run the meeting, what SWAG is all about, and to give you a chance to meet the other members of the group and to ask any questions you may have.
